Youth Group Announcements (May 9, 2024)

"Never Too Far" - Lesson Series at Youth Group May 8th & 15th

The love of God cannot be lost and it cannot be earned. It’s something we receive when we place our trust in Jesus. During this series, we are looking at Jesus’ mission on earth through the lens of a story He told about two sons. In this modern retelling of the Prodigal Son, we will see how Jesus came to rescue us from sin, repair our relationship with God, and restore our purpose of partnering with God in His good plans for the world. Week one will focus on the younger brother who thought he lost God’s love because of all the mistakes he had made. In week two, we will look at the older brother who thought he could earn the love of his father through his good works. In the end, we will see that rightness with God isn’t based on what we do or don’t do. It’s based on His unconditional and extravagant love for us.

End-of-the-school-year Party - Wednesday May 22nd

This event will be held on the front lawn of the church (inside if the weather is bad) from 6:00pm to 8:30pm. We will have lawn games, a cookout, the final tally of our YG leader-board, senior recognition, a campfire with s’mores, and more!

Youth Summer Mission Trip to The Philadelphia Project - June 30-July 4

The Philadelphia Project – Summer of Service 2024
Youth Group Mission Trip to Philadelphia, PA
Sunday afternoon June 30th to Thursday morning July 4th

A change of plans from the previous communication regarding our youth group summer mission trip. Summer of Service is a shortened week mission trip for students who have completed 6-12th grade. We challenge youth to serve whole-heartedly in our community and to think critically about how God’s Word speaks to social and spiritual issues. Our prayer is that God uses this extended experience of service, worship, and fellowship to make an eternal impact on youth and those they serve as well as a visible impact offering hope and restoration to our community.

The cost for the trip is $150 per person for Calvary students and their friends. A $75 per person deposit is required at the time of registration. Slots still available, contact Kyle to get signed up!

“‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.  But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’” – Luke 15:31-32
