Curriculum and Resources
What kinds of publications and curriculum do we use in our church on a regular basis? Because Baptist churches are autonomous, in general our pastors and groups are free to use resources that they find the most helpful and relevant. However, there are some we use regularly or in particular settings:
-
- Our youth group (for teens grades 6-12) often uses teaching videos and Bible reading plans developed by LifeChurch Open Network and their Switch youth group.
- Judson Press is our American Baptist publishing house. In addition to full length books, they produce weekly Sunday School curriculum that we have traditionally used, as well as a daily devotional called Secret Place which releases quarterly and we make available for free.
- Our Kids for Jesus group that meets on Wednesday nights typically uses material from Sparkhouse Digital
You’ll Be My Witnesses: A vision for the church in the next quarter century.
Pastor Corey begins the new year with a powerful new series titled “You Will Be My Witnesses: A Vision for the Church in the Next Quarter Century.” Recognizing that we’ve entered the second quarter of the 21st century, he invites the church to pause and reflect—not to predict the future, but to consider where God is leading.
He shares that the series offers a perspective shaped by both his and Pastor John’s experiences, addressing the future of both Calvary and the broader Church. Rooted in Acts 1:8—often called the “other Great Commission”—the messages will explore key themes that align with the church’s core values. The series is visually represented by a watchtower in a vineyard, a symbol that will be unpacked in the weeks ahead.
